Research Highlights
- In 2008, The Kitty and Michael Dukakis Center for Urban and Regional Policy released its fifth annual Greater Boston Housing Report Card in September 2007. The Report Card is a diagnostic tool that provides an annual assessment of the region's progress toward providing housing opportunities for all of its citizens. It focuses on housing production in 161 cities and towns including and surrounding Boston and examines trends in housing prices and rents, the preservation of affordable housing, and state and federal funding levels for subsidized housing.
- The Nanotechnology and Society Research Group (NSRG) studies the societal dimensions of nanotechnology research, development, application and commercialization. NSRG is the recipient a $1.4 million award from the National Science Foundation to evaluate existing federal and state government regulatory capacity --defined here as sufficiency in scientific expertise, legal authority, organizational design, and relevant regulatory frameworks -- and, where appropriate, making recommendations for building requisite capacity to address these challenges.
