Faculty Spotlight
The School welcomes two young scholars to its already strong group of faculty who focus their research and teaching on some aspect of the urban experience.
- Thomas Vicino (Ph.D., University of Maryland, Baltimore), Assistant Professor of Political Science, brings expertise in urban politics and policy; suburbanization, smart growth, and sustainability; and globalization and the city. He is author of Transforming Race and Class in Suburbia: Decline in Metropolitan Baltimore (Palgrave Macmillan, 2008).
- Liza Weinstein (Ph.D., University of Chicago), Assistant Professor of Sociology, brings expertise in comparative urban sociology, with a particular focus on the impacts of globalization on cities in developing nations. Her recent publications include, "Mumbai's Development Mafias: Organized Crime", "Land Development", and "Globalization", in the International Journal of Urban and Regional Research.
We are pleased to add Professors Vicino and Weinstein to our faculty ranks, particularly as we start our new MS in Urban and Regional Policy.
