NU Announces Dissertation Writing Fellowship Awardees for Spring 2008 – Three School PhD Candidates Honored
Following a review of competitive applications from a cross-section of PhD candidates across the University, Vice-Provost for Graduate Education Luis M. Falcon has announced awardees for the Dissertation Writing Fellowship for Spring 2008.
Three PhD candidates from the School of Social Science, Urban Affairs, and Public Policy were amongst the group of fifteen. The awardees, their respective program, dissertation title, and advisor are as follows:
ALBUJA, Sebastian. PhD Program in Law, Policy and Society. “Global Markets, Local Outcomes: Diffusion and Application of Derivative Human Rights Norms.� Advisor: Professor Thomas Koenig
ELLETT, Rachel. PhD Program in Political Science. “Building Judicial Independence and the Rule of Law in sub-Saharan Africa: the Cases of Malawi, Uganda, and Tanzania.� Advisor: Professor Michael Tolley
GILDAE, Catherine. PhD Program in Law, Policy and Society. “Good Old-fashioned Traditional Family Values? The Meaning of Marriage Availability for Female Same-Sex Couples and their Families.� Advisor: Professor Susan Setta
