Northeastern Voice: Fox to deliver Klein Lecture on school shootings
If campus shootings in the United States today were compared to those in past decades, the numbers would tell a story different from the panicky headlines and "giddy" minute-to-minute television reports that make the crimes seem more commonplace, says Lipman Family Professor James Alan Fox.

The EdTech Center is seeking faculty presenters for the annual Teaching with Technology Day (April 29th). We are interested in applications of technology in face-to-face classes, outside of actual class time, or in media-based student assignments.

The Service-Learning Teaching Assistant's (S-LTA's) collaborate with faculty, community partners and peers to apply the best practices to their utilization of service-learning, and work to ensure both learning and service goals are met by, identifying appropriate community partnerships for the course; establishing service experiences that match the course learning objectives;
matching students with those projects, and monitor student service hours and activities; enhancing and maintaining the community partnerships; co-facilitating reflection discussions and exercises; and

The Jewish Studies program is currently accepting applications for the 2008-2009 Gideon Klein award. The Gideon Klein Award is a $3000 award given for a student to study the work of artists (musical, visual, or literary) who were persecuted by the Nazis during the Holocaust. The student who is chosen will hold the title of “Gideon Klein Scholar.”

Northeastern Voice: Unit on Holocaust in France highlights interdisciplinary cooperation
Earlier this semester, groups of Northeastern freshmen sat silently in Northeastern’s Studio Theatre as they viewed a sobering documentary play about the Holocaust in France, as part of one of Northeastern’s new “learning communities,? in which groups of students examine topics in several linked courses, through the lens of different disciplines.
