Departments and Programs
The School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs is comprised of a core team of faculty committed to urban and policy related research and teaching. Some of the core faculty are tenured directly in the Policy School while others are tenured within traditional academic departmens.
The Policy School is closely affiliated with the various social science departments: African-American Studies, Economics, History, Political Science, and Sociology & Anthropology, the graduate program in Law, Policy, and Society, and the undergraduate program in International Affairs. Each social science discipline brings to bear a particular theoretical lens through which one can examine and analyze critical issues. Theory informs applied research and, in turn, is shaped by lessons obtained from experience. Taken across multiple disciplines, this creative tension enables us to ask the right questions about key public issues.
