About Us
Message From The Deans
Although summer has finally arrived, we continue to move at a very fast pace with so much going on at the Policy School.
We are very excited about the launch of our new Master's in Urban and Regional Policy this Fall. We had excellent turnout at our first Information Session and are very impressed with the calibre of our prospective students for the first class. The second Information Session is coming up on Wednesday, July 1, from 5:30 to 6:30 in Egan 340.
We are also adding on-line courses for our MPA program. Now MPA students can complete coursework through any combination of in-class and on-line courses.
On July 15th, we are hosting Data Day, a full-day conference on using data to drive community change. The event is a joint effort of the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, the Boston Foundation, and the Policy School. Click here for more information. Then in the Fall, we will offer a monthly Data Toolkit Workshop Series, that will provide training on various sources of key policy data as well as tools for creating great maps and charts.
Also returning in the Fall is our popular Open Classroom Policy Series. The topic will be 21st Century Cities: Challenges and Opportunities Facing Urban Communities. The course will be led by Dean Barry Bluestone and Paul Grogan, President of the Boston Foundation. Each week will feature guest lecturers who are experts and practitioners in key areas like education, health, economic development, transportation, etc.
Meanwhile, our Political Science Department continues to offer the Massachusetts Education Policy Fellowship Program, a professional development program for individuals in education and human services who seek to enhance their leadership and public policy knowledge and skills.
We invite you to explore our range of programs and the faculty and staff who run them. Feel free to contact us to let us know of your interest in the School.
